Sarai Mir
Sarai Mir is a town and a Nagar Panchayat in Azamgarh district in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. It is well known in the Islamic educational circles because of existence of many big and small madrasas such as Madrasatul Islah in north east & Madrasa Baitul Uloom in west while the Faizul Uloom is located in south east. Madrasatul Islah was founded in 1908 by Maulana Muhammad Shafi and, in particular, was led by Imam Hamiduddin Farahi from 1925 until 1930. ==Demographics== India census, Sarai Mir had a population of 15,526. Males constitute 51% of the population and females 49%. Sarai Mir has an average literacy rate of 58%, lower than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 64%, and female literacy is 52%. In Sarai Mir, 21% of the population is under 6 years of age.
